Lung Volume Reduction Surgery
I spent my early career in the lab at Harvard Medical School researching angiogenesis. I realized that I wanted to become more active at the patient bedside and thus I attended PA school. As a PA I have found the bedside and direct patient care to be the most rewarding part of my job. I do however still have a strong interest in basic science and physiologic mechanisms which drives my enjoyment of ICU care and advanced surgical procedures. I recently started at UCSF after 12 years at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago as the program coordinator for both the LVRS and thoracic robotic surgical programs. I also spent time as a clinical instructor and lecturer at the Northwestern Medical School Physician Assistant Program prior to moving to the Bay Area. It my goal become an integral member of the UCSF Cardiothoracic Surgery department and assisting in all aspects of our programs from ECMO to LVADs to our new robotic surgery program.
