Katherine Bird, MSN, ACNP-BC, FNP-BC, ANP-BC gained experience as a Nurse Practitioner initially in the Department of Family Practice at Duke University providing inpatient and outpatient care before joining the University of Vermont Medical Center where she was a Nurse Practitioner in the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Medicine focusing on managing complex critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit on multiple life supporting therapies; Mechanical Ventilation, Balloon Pump, & CRRT.

In 2014, she accepted an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Position in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at UCSF providing medical care with an extensive Interdisciplinary Team in the Cardiac ICU & Step Down Units for patients with Heart & Lung Transplant, CABG, Valve Replacement, LVAD, ECLS & Thoracic Surgical Patients.
